Juliette and Scott founded The Nerve to address the perception of library music all sounding the same with a lack of diversity in production. We're here to put some razzle dazzle back into the music 'library' industry, bringing spectacular new talent to the party and a fresh sparkle to TV music.
Co-Founder
Juliette has over 30 years of experience in the television production and music industries. After 15 years working in a wide variety of roles and genres in TV production, Juliette went on to lead the music library company Audio Network, which grew from a small start-up in 2003 into an established multi-million global music brand. Prior to launching The Nerve, Juliette spent 3 years as the Deputy CEO of the online rights trading platform, TRX.
Co-Founder
Scott has a wealth of experience across the music industry – from production and recording to writing. He has also worked in a variety of roles in TV and Film. In 2005 he joined Audio Network to spearhead the opening of their London office and went on to lead their North American business and global sub-publishing network. As SVP of Channel Strategy, he was responsible for developing new business strategies and initiatives.
Director of Business Development
Caroline started her career in a leading kit hire house as a technician before embarking on the path of a freelance location sound recordist. She then moved back in to hire as crew co-ordinator and progressed to the sales team at Procam TV.
In 2008 Caroline joined the Farm Group to launch Rent, their own hire division. After a spell at Pro Motion Hire Caroline moved to Film Locker to drive their content archiving services into the TV sector, before joining The Nerve in September 2020.
Business Development Manager
Joe is a multi-disciplinary creative who has a diverse background in TV and music. He studied composition for TV and Film at the London College of Music where he gained a strong passion for music synch and library, also composing and writing for various short films and collaborative projects. Joe's passion for TV led him to join indie production company Fulwell 73 Productions where he worked across both strategic operations and Post-Production. He has strong knowledge of Post-Production and music and is an advocate of young, diverse composer talent.
Key Account & Marketing Manager
With an MA in Marketing Management and wide experience in the corporate, hospitality and media sectors, Sophia brings her passion and expertise to elevate our key client relationships and steer our marketing strategy. With top digital marketing, social media, event management, email and campaign management, Sophia has every base covered – keeping The Nerve brand bold and full of personality. She is an avid music lover - seeking out off the grid, live gigs is what she loves to do in her spare time.
Publishing and Administration Manager
Pip started her career in post-production in 1999 and has worked in senior administrative roles since then in the TV industry within locations, post production and television production. She spent 4 years at Objective Productions before a move to assist in the smooth running of the New York City office of Audio Network.
Music Operations & Insights Manager
Mark is a Hungarian composer based in the north of England. In the past 10 years he’s written music for television and video games, working with indie studios and blending orchestral and contemporary sounds to create immersive scores. He has a particular love for building interactive music systems that bring stories and worlds to life. That creative background has led Mark into the business side of music, where he brings the same curiosity and big-picture thinking. He’s especially focused on the role technology plays in shaping the future of music and how it can open doors for creativity.
Music & A&R Supervisor
Richards’ music obsession began at a young age. His bass guitar skills were spotted by Plan B, and he was subsequently introduced to Maverick Sabre. Rich played with Maverick Sabre from 2010, playing bass and often taking care of programming and playback on tour. Richard won a place on the AKG Scholarship Of Sound 2011 where he flew to Berlin to meet Carl Craig, Deadbeat and more. He loves production as much as playing bass and several of Richard's productions and collaborations can be found in the catalogue, ranging from reggae to pop to classical.
Music and A&R Supervisor
Originally an oboist, Ruth studied at Chetham's School of Music, Manchester, before moving to London to study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
At the Guildhall, Ruth developed a passion for composition - particularly for popular music, music for moving image and media, and how music reflects and shapes identity. This fueled further study for a Master's at Goldsmith's, University of London.
She's written music to accompany a number of short films, podcasts, charity campaigns and recently had her first album published with the Nerve. She also co-wrote music for feature film "Are You Proud?", which appeared in the documentary category for the Guardian's Best Films of 2019.
Tim is first and foremost a music lover. He is also a senior media leader with over 20 years of international executive experience in building and running creative companies in highly entrepreneurial environments. He has been instrumental in creating over $3bn of shareholder value across multiple global entertainment business exits. Tim has served as the COO of Fifth Season, a $1bn global film and tv studio based in LA, and also held COO roles at Elisabeth Murdoch’s Shine Group and Avalon. He started his entertainment career in music law as a partner at leading media firm Sheridans.
Nick Woollard is the SVP, Enterprise Product at Songtradr and has overseen the development and launch of an enterprise-grade platform providing music licensing and services to the world's biggest brands and agencies. Prior to this role, he was a key part of the leadership team at Audio Network and was responsible for developing their advertising and branded content business, before taking on a remit to lead global sales and operations.
Claire Hungate is a internationally recognised expert in the Media space; her experience spans the financing, production, distribution and commercialisation of audio visual content across multiple platforms. She has spent the last 20 years in executive roles in the television and digital media sectors, including running some of the biggest and most successful TV production companies in the World.
Mike Beale heads up the Global Creative Network at ITV Studios, overseeing all development and acquisition of Third Party formats worldwide. Mike joined ITV Studios in 2011 to oversee creation and production of ITV Studios formats,including The Chase, I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, Hell’s Kitchen, Come Dine With Me. Mike has extensive experience working in production and formats at a range of producer/broadcasters and production companies including NBCUniversal, BBC and Hat Trick. Mike also co founded the independent production companies - 12 Yard Productions and Alchemy Reality.
Steve Connelly started his career as a graphic designer at the BBC and has gone on to direct many award winning shows from documentaries such as John Pilger’s ‘Breaking the Silence’, Robbie Coltraine’s ‘Coltraine’s Planes and Automobiles’ to comedies such as ‘Smack the Pony’, ‘Bremner Bird and Fortune’, ‘Horrible Histories’, ‘Yonderland’ and the new ‘Spitting Image’ series.
Jenny Hay worked as a Line Producer on some of the most successful comedy shows including Mr Bean, Harry Enfield and Chums, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Peep Show, Toast of London, and Fresh Meat. She was Head of Production at Talkback Productions and Production Executive at Objective Fiction.
Steve Tempia is a freelance TV and Film Editor. His experience spans some 30 Years and has broad experience across a wide range of top TV and Film productions, specialising in Comedy and Documentary . His credits Include ‘The Thin Blue Line', Ross Kemp’s ‘Extreme World' and ‘What we Did On Our Holiday’
Leo Pearlman, alongside his partners, set up and founded Fulwell 73 in 2007 and have produced over 600hrs of television, 15 major feature films, both scripted and documentary. The company catalogue includes content with the likes of David Beckham, Harry Styles, Usain Bolt, Justin Bieber, Berry Gordy, Tom Cruise, Adele and many more.
Jonathan has been advising TMT companies across Europe, US and Asia for over 25 years. He particularly focuses on Broadcast, Entertainment and IP, having advised on many of the notable domestic and cross-border transactions in this sector. Founding Partner, NewShore Partners.
